Amir Richardson: “A Moroccan star and my father are the reason I moved to Fiorentina.”
Fiorentina new signing Amir Richardson has confirmed that Moroccan international Sofiane Amrabat played a major role in his move to the Italian side.
Introducing a new player to “Viola”, Amir said: “Sofiyan Amrabat advised me to choose Fiorentina. “I listened to him and my father.”
He continued: “My father talked to me a lot about playing in Italy and recommended that I come to this country. “I never thought about playing basketball. Since I was young, I started practicing this sport thanks to my mother, who enrolled me in the football school.”
On Monday, Italian club Fiorentina announced its contract with young Moroccan player Amir Richardson, from French Stade de Reims.
It is worth noting that Richardson was able to shine recently with the national Olympic team, and contributed to their victory in the bronze medal, making Morocco the first Arab country to win a medal in the history of the Olympic Games.
