Tarek Sektioui decides his future with the Moroccan national team
Tarek Sektioui, coach of the Moroccan Olympic football team, has quickly become the center of attention of Arab clubs and national teams to recruit him, after what he achieved with the “Atlas Cubs” at the Paris Olympic Games.
Al-Saktiwi achieved an unprecedented feat in the history of Arab football, leading the Moroccan Olympic team to a bronze medal in football at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
Sektiwi was able to confirm his position as one of the most successful Moroccan coaches in recent years, after a long playing career with the national team and the clubs he defended for.
The Syrian Football Federation was the first to ask for a contract from the former Portuguese star of Porto before his retirement and his move to training, especially after his feat at the Paris Olympics, after communicating with him about supervising the first team.
Well-informed sources revealed that Tariq Al-Saktiwi’s coach first asked the Syrian Football Federation to give him a period of reflection before making his decision, then, after careful consideration, he decided to reject the Syrian offer, based on the desire of the Royal Moroccan Football League to keep him.
Fawzi Lakjaa places Sektioui at the head of the Moroccan U-23 national team, in coordination with Walid Regragui, the first coach of the national team, which makes his refusal to coach the “Eagles of Qasioun” a logical matter in the current period, and therefore the Syrian Football Federation will be forced to look for another alternative to take the lead in the next stage.
The Syrian Football Federation has tried to convince Al-Saktiwi of its own project, providing him with great powers with the first team and the rest of the teams, but the coach has so far rejected the offer.
