By Coincidence… Egyptian Artist Ahmed Siam Discovers He Has Cancer

Egyptian artist Ahmed Siam has announced that he has lung cancer and discovered his illness by chance.

The Egyptian artist said the story of his illness began when he woke up one day in 2007 suffering from a severe cough and a general state of fatigue that did not allow him to get out of bed.

The artist revealed that at that time he was a heavy smoker, smoking 120 cigarettes a day, which worried him so much that he asked his brother’s wife, who works as a doctor, to examine him.

In turn, the doctor asked him to undergo X-rays and tests, and the surprise was that he suffered from lung cancer.

Siam said he asked his sister-in-law not to tell his children and wife the shocking news, before she advised him to meet with a colleague who specialises in cardiac and thoracic surgery.

During this meeting, the doctor confirmed to him that the cancerous tumor was present in one of the three lobes of the lung on the right side, and in case of surgery, he would remove this lobe and leave the other two lobes, so Siyam accepted the proposal and entered the operating room only two days after this meeting to remove the tumor.

He then underwent chemotherapy and received a limited number of doses, before the doctor assured him that his health had become good and that nothing else was needed for his joy to be great after this painful experience, which he considered a difficult and important test in his life.
