Amidst the changes and developments observed in the Zeinat quarries file in Tetouan, especially after an article published by the Heba Press website on the need to conduct an investigation into the amount of explosives used in these same quarries and their significant impact on life in general, the workers of Tetouan intervened on the instructions of the Minister of the Interior and the governor of the province and in coordination with all the departments involved in the authorization of these entities that destroy the environment, nature, humans and animals without worrying about the consequences and negative aspects.

Considering that the article of “Heba Press” objectively addressed the danger of explosives and their dust flying over roundabouts, dams and valleys without the competent authorities intervening to stop these crimes punishable by law and to protect the subjects of His Majesty the King from the danger of pollution and the chronic diseases resulting from it due to the chance and excessive use of explosive materials. Several associations and human rights organizations have announced their alignment against the quarry mafia, which is generally fortified and no one is allowed to visit it and investigate its suspicious method of operation.

When we talk about these quarries, we are talking about a specific family known from Tetouan Street, as well as a mixed marriage relationship with another entrepreneur who owns a nearby quarry, to complete the real picture of monopoly, rents and the depletion of resources, capacities and safety of people, far from the books of tolerance signed between the authorities and investors.

These are explosives. How do you know what explosives are? Perhaps we are not ashamed to say that the residents of Al-Zeinat have been experiencing the horror and tragedy of the residents of the Gaza Strip for years. Is the whole world rising up against Israel in its aggression against the Gaza Strip in just a few months, and turning a deaf ear to the residents of Al-Zeinat for decades? The quarries in question are violations for which those responsible must be held accountable, first and foremost the Ministry of Energy and Mines, which authorized the use of explosives near high-voltage electricity poles. Even more dangerous than that is the presence of the quarries near the “Sharif Al-Idrissi” and “Nakhla” dams, which supply the city and its suburbs with drinking water.

Speaking of drinking water, it should also be emphasized in this regard that the water from dams and nearby valleys must be subjected to the necessary laboratory analyses due to the significant spread of dust resulting from random and excessive explosions by quarry owners. call on the Ministry of Equipment and Water to intensify monitoring and adopt new mechanisms for monitoring the level of water pollution by the deadly substance of aluminum.

Between this and that, according to the information available to Heba Press, the file of the quarries of “Al-Zeinat” is on the table of the regional worker “Al-Mansouri”, who formed committees from different sectors to determine the severity of the damage related to the unjust exploitation that affected people, trees and stones, with recommendations to submit the results of the inspections on the ground,
Divine and man-made laws insist and emphasize the need to respect life in general and even prohibit disregarding it in all circumstances. So how can these quarries, which reap huge profits, alter the lives of thousands of people and forcibly relocate them to other regions when they are the ones who built these villages and inhabited them for hundreds of years? It is the intruder who must leave and not the other way around.

What were the benefits to the inhabitants of these destructive quarries, besides the diseases, the death of livestock and the destruction of land and offspring, should the Ministry of Public Health, in turn, count the number of mothers who suffered spontaneous miscarriages? of the force and magnitude of the explosion.

The central and crucial question remains, which is addressed to the various authorities: has the package of laws drawn up by the Moroccan State to protect the environment and man and concluded with the “Zeinat” quarries according to the book of incentives, which seems to be written on paper, in fact achieved only 20 or 30% of the possible total, to be achieved in the midst of a great intersection of hidden interests and privileges enjoyed by some to the detriment of public health.
