Exporting avocados despite drought raises questions

From time to time, the debate is renewed about the extent to which avocado cultivation consumes water, since producing one kilogram of this green fruit requires between 700 and 800 liters.
Despite successive challenges regarding water requirements, the production of this fruit continues, but its export at this precise time raises more than one question.
Abdullah Al-Yalamahi, president of the Moroccan Avocado Association, said that the cultivation is going well this year, expecting an increase in quantities and sizes, better than last year, according to him.
He added that despite the drought, record numbers were reported for a number of water-depleting fruits, such as dates and avocados.
Sudo added in a Facebook post: “This is also recorded amid the interruption of water distribution in some cities, a delay in the completion of seawater desalination plants and a royal cry in the throne speech regarding the management of water shortages.”
Sudo questions the results of accountability in public policies related to water? As well as wisdom in management?
