FC Barcelona plans to expand its international training network in Morocco by opening a new football school, the “Barça Academy” in Casablanca.
“After the success of the Barcelona Academy in Rabat, the club is promoting a project considered strategic to expand the reach of football in Morocco, by opening a second Barcelona Academy in the country,” the Spanish club said in a statement.
The “Barcelona Academy” project is expected to be launched in Casablanca next September, welcoming around 500 children, boys and girls, who will learn the principles of the game and the values of the club, according to the press release.
The new academy will be the 28th academy of its kind in the world and will complete the “Barcelona Academy” project in 48 countries on five continents, if we include camps and training camps.
Barcelona’s academies aim to provide “complete training” while strengthening the club’s brand image.
The Catalan club stressed that “football and sport in general are tools for social cohesion, and Barcelona is a driving force around the world for all the values it brings to society.”
