The Independent newspaper reports that more than 100 passengers arriving at Manchester Airport from Morocco on Monday were faced with an unexpected problem upon arrival, with a cockroach infestation in the baggage hold.

The British newspaper The Independent reported that the baggage hold of Royal Air Maroc flight AT818 was infected with a cockroach infestation.

In detail, the newspaper states that the plane took off from Casablanca and arrived on time at Manchester airport, but after an hour and a half of waiting in the baggage hall with no bags appearing or communication from the company, passengers were informed that the luggage had not been unloaded due to health and safety concerns related to insects.

After the plane took off for Casablanca, the luggage was sent back with the plane to Morocco, where it remained for several days without being sent back to Manchester.

One of the travellers told the same newspaper that he was concerned that cockroaches might have laid eggs in their luggage.

In turn, one of the travelers told the same newspaper that when she checked her AirTag device, she realized that her bag was already in Manchester, and after 90 minutes of waiting in the baggage hall without anyone appearing and without communication, the nature of the problem was revealed.

The traveller added: “It appears that the plane’s hold contained cockroaches and so no crew members were allowed near them for health and safety reasons.”

Talking about it comes at a time when we are not far from the World Cup, and it is an opportunity to challenge the CEO of Royal Air Maroc, Abdelhamid Adou, to improve all services.

It is worth noting that the time of Abdel Hamid Adou at the head of the Royal Air Maroc company was known for many impurities, which clearly emerge from time to time on social networking sites or in certain press articles.
