Some 30,555 Moroccans Residing Abroad (MRE) have transited through the port of Al Hoceima since the launch of Operation “Marhaba 2024” until last Saturday.
According to the director of the port of Al Hoceima, Adil El Bardi, the passengers who passed through the port of Al Hoceima are divided between 20,223 passengers coming to Morocco and 10,332 leaving for abroad.
In addition, a total of 7,690 vehicles transited through the port of Al Hoceima, including 2,508 incoming vehicles and 5,182 outgoing vehicles, he noted, noting that a set of measures have been put in place to facilitate these operations.
The number of arrivals during this period, both passengers and vehicles, recorded a decrease of 15 and 13% respectively, he noted, explaining that this decline is mainly due to the late start of the Marhaba operation this year at the port level.
He added that the National Ports Agency is continuing its efforts to improve port facilities, through the installation of state-of-the-art safety and comfort equipment.
The Agency is also working to strengthen coordination with the various stakeholders concerned in order to guarantee good conditions for welcoming passengers, the official noted.
