Boycott forces AXA insurance company to withdraw investments from Israeli banks

The BDS movement said on Wednesday that French insurance company AXA had been forced to sell its investments in all major Israeli banks, as well as in the military company Elbit.
BDS said in a statement that Israeli banks provide “direct and massive” support for the maintenance and development of settlements, prompting the movement to pressure AXA to withdraw its investments in them and the company “Elbit.”
The statement added: “These Israeli institutions are complicit in the expansion of Israeli settlements established on stolen Palestinian land, as well as other violations and crimes against our people.”
Due to the collusion of these Israeli institutions, “the French insurance company AXA has been exposed to pressure to withdraw its investments, in addition to the damage to its reputation and the expansion of its boycott,” the statement said.
