Famous pop singer Mariah Carey has confirmed the deaths of her mother and sister in a “tragic development of events”.
His mother, Patricia, and sister, Alison, died the same day, although the causes of death are not yet known.
Carey said in a statement provided to the PA Media: “My heart breaks with sadness as I lost my mother last weekend.” She added: “Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day.”
“I am grateful to have been able to spend the last week with my mother before she passed away,” Carrie said. “I appreciate everyone’s love, support and respect for my privacy during this very difficult time.”
Carrie’s mother, Patricia, and father, Alfred, separated when she was three years old.
