Back to school: Chakib Benmoussa visits educational establishments in Khénifra

The Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa, made, on Monday, a field visit to educational establishments adhering to the “Pioneer Schools” project in the province of Khenifra.

Mr. Benmoussa also visited a boarding school reserved for students from rural communities in the province of Khenifra, as part of monitoring the measures taken to ensure successful entry into school.

Mr. Benmoussa’s visit is part of the monitoring of measures taken at the level of educational establishments with a view to expanding the network of “Pioneer Schools” during the 2024-2025 school year, in accordance with the 2022-2026 Roadmap.

Thus, the minister, who was accompanied in particular by the Secretary General of the Prefecture of the Province of Khenifra, and the Director of the Regional Academy of Education and Training of Beni Mellal, went to the Al Masira Al Khadra Primary School, in the commune of Khenifra, before visiting the Zaouia college high school (Ait Ishaq commune) and the boarding school of the El Borj community school (El Borj commune).

In a statement to MAP, he indicated that this visit targeted establishments involved in the “Pioneering Schools” project, noting that these establishments have been rehabilitated through the provision of textbooks and adapted digital resources in order to support students and improve reception conditions in educational establishments.

Pioneer schools focus in particular on sports and parallel activities according to a participatory approach that meets the expectations of students and educational managers, by raising the quality of basic learning while combating school dropout, he continued.

The pioneer schools experiment will be extended to the primary cycle at the start of the school year, encompassing 2,000 establishments at the national level. Regarding the secondary school cycle, some 230 establishments will adopt this reform from the start of the 2024-2025 school year.

The 2022-2026 Roadmap for a “Quality Public School for All” establishes a new reform model by 2026, which prioritizes the impact on students and proposes practical solutions and measures to improve the quality of public schools and combat school dropout.
