Lamine Yamal’s salary with Barcelona for the new season
Lamine Yamal, of Moroccan origin and a graduate of the famous ‘La Masia’ academy, is considered one of the most prominent young talents to emerge at Barcelona in recent years, as he hopes to follow in the footsteps of the Argentinian legend and creator of the glories of the Catalan club, Lionel Messi.
Since his first appearance for the club in April 2023, Yamal has attracted attention with his great talent, as he became the youngest player to wear the team’s jersey in an official match, and he is currently considered one of the most prominent key players in German coach Hansi Flick’s squad.
Lamine Yamal’s salary with Barcelona for the new season is around 32,000 euros per week, which means that his annual salary is estimated at around 1.67 million euros, according to what the Spanish newspaper “AS” reports.
Yamal’s current contract with the Catalan club runs until June 2026 and includes a huge release clause that could reach €1 billion. This large amount in the penalty clause shows how keen the club is to retain this talent, especially after the experience they had with Brazilian Neymar when he arrived at French club Paris Saint-Germain.
Although Lamine Yamal’s salary at Barcelona is considered significant and good for his age, it remains much lower than that of the Catalan club’s major players, such as Frenkie de Jong and Robert Lewandowski.
The Dutch star is paid around €721,154 per week, while the Polish top scorer is paid €400,577 per week. These differences show how much the club relies on the experience and stardom of senior players, even if Yamal’s salary represents a good start to his first-team career.
The Spanish newspaper reported that Lamine Yamal’s salary with Barcelona is expected to improve later, taking into account his evolution from one season to the next, especially when he turns 18, as it is expected that the club will offer him a new deal that reflects his status as one of the best young players in the world.
Those negotiations could take place sooner if the rising star continues to deliver the same exceptional performances he has shown both with Barcelona and the Spanish national team, which he recently led to the 2024 European Nations Cup title.
