HIBAPRESS – Shafiq Anouri
Diego Placente, the coach of the Argentinian under-20 team, admitted that their Moroccan counterparts deserved to win the Youth World Cup title.
Placente said in a press conference after the match: "Morocco was a deserving champion," adding: "In the final, there are a lot of emotions, and perhaps we should have been calmer." He also added: "We conceded the first goal from an uncomplicated attack, and then the second goal came, and it was difficult to recover from this mistake." He continued: "During the tournament, we knew Morocco's capabilities, and if they take the lead, they close the spaces well. The truth is that they are good physically and technically, and they are a great opponent. Unfortunately, we were unable to score a goal that would change the course of the match and restore us psychologically." The Moroccan national team won the Youth World Cup after an impressive run during which they topped the group of death, which included Spain, Brazil, and Mexico, before defeating South Korea, the United States, France, and then winning against Argentina in the final.
