Spanish club enters race to sign Nayef Akrad
Spanish club Real Sociedad have entered the race to sign Morocco international Naif Akrad just hours before the summer transfer window closes, in light of the player’s desire to leave England’s West Ham United to secure more playing opportunities.
Journalist Jacob Steinberg has revealed that Real Sociedad have opened talks with West Ham to finalise the transfer of the Moroccan defender to their ranks on loan, noting that the issues are not yet settled.
Real Sociedad became the second Spanish club looking to sign the Moroccan player in the current transfer window, after Villarreal, who had inquired earlier about the player’s situation, and the same goes for Portuguese club Porto, who also expressed their wish to include Kurde in their ranks, before negotiations quickly stopped, due to the disagreement with Saudi club Al-Ittihad, who wanted to recruit the player.

Naif Akrad is looking for a team that will allow him to play as a starter during the current season, given the difficulties he has encountered with West Ham in establishing himself in the starting eleven, the player having missed the English team’s first three matches in the Premier League.
Akrad insists on leaving West Ham this summer and is waiting for a suitable offer to leave and start a new experience. Real Sociedad could fulfill his desire if he reaches a final agreement with the managers of the “Hammers” club before the summer transfer window. closes at midnight tomorrow, Saturday, European time.
The Moroccan player is tied to West Ham with a contract that runs until the summer of 2027, which makes the process of his definitive transfer to one of the clubs that want to recruit him difficult given the lack of suitable offers so far, especially since his market value currently stands at 35 million euros.
