The Royal Moroccan Armed Forces are preparing to conduct naval maneuvers on the Atlantic coast, with the aim of strengthening their military capabilities, 140 kilometers from the Canary Islands.
According to reports, Spain “is aware of the military maneuvers that the Royal Moroccan Navy will carry out in the desert waters starting next Sunday and will continue for 3 full months, that is, until the end of the year,” explaining that it “sees no reason to worry about them, since they are outside its territorial waters.”
The same sources indicated that “Morocco has informed the Spanish Ministry of Defense of these military maneuvers, which will continue for four months, according to the usual guidelines and channels, to ensure the security of the air and maritime space.” At the same time, she stressed that “these activities will be subject to regular monitoring by the competent authorities and the Spanish Embassy in Rabat.”
The Spanish extremist party Vox, as usual, tried to exploit this event to confuse the Moroccan naval maneuvers that the Royal Armed Forces plan to carry out in the coming months.
