Oujda…the precipitations are heading towards Algeria via the Isli valley
The city of Oujda and its surroundings experienced rain showers and thunderstorms following a warning bulletin from the Meteorological Directorate, which predicted a significant water load.
Among these valleys, we find the Isli valley, which extends to Algeria, notably the Boughrara dam in Maghnia, in Algeria, on the border with Morocco, where it was filled thanks to this load coming from the suburbs of Oujda.
The Boughrara Dam is considered one of the largest dams in Algeria. It has witnessed the flow of water into the Isli Valley in Morocco, and its waters are used to irrigate areas adjacent to the valley in the states of Tlemcen, such as those of Ndrouma and Swahili Regions, and up to the regions of Ain Temouchent Province.
The question remains: why was a dam not built for the benefit of the agricultural and residential lands of the city of Oujda and its suburbs, instead of losing it and letting its water load go to the dams of Algeria?
