Morocco welcomes the Security Council's decision aimed at an immediate cessation of hostilities in Gaza

Morocco welcomed the adoption by the United Nations Security Council on Monday of resolution No. 2728 calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip during the month of Ramadan, according to Morocco's permanent mission to the Nations united in New York.

The Moroccan mission, on its account (X), stressed that this resolution constituted “an important step towards putting an end to the suffering of Palestinian civilians”.

The same source added that Morocco, whose King Mohammed VI chairs the Al-Quds Committee, also welcomes the resolution's request to allow the delivery of humanitarian aid to all civilians in the Gaza Strip and to strengthen their protection.

The Moroccan mission recorded that the Kingdom insists on the importance of the immediate and total implementation of the resolution by all parties, thus making it possible to confront the crisis in all its dimensions, adding that the Kingdom expects an increase in humanitarian aid from the international community to the Palestinian people.

It is worth recalling that the Security Council yesterday adopted a resolution calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Gaza during the month of Ramadan, as well as the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages, and the urgent need to expand the scope of the humanitarian aid flow
