Discover the nominees for the Ballon d’Or 2024

France Football magazine has unveiled the list of players nominated to win the 2024 Ballon d’Or for the best footballer in the world, in the presence of the tournament’s most notable stars, in order to succeed Argentinian star Lionel Messi – holder of the title in the last edition – and the record holder for the number of times the award has been won with 8 times.

Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were absent from the list of players nominated to win the Ballon d’Or for the first time since 2003, and that appears to be down to their advanced age and their departure from Europe’s top five leagues, as the Portuguese plays for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, while the Argentine plays for Inter Miami of the United States.

The awards ceremony will take place in Paris, the French capital, more precisely at the Théâtre du Châtelet, on October 28, where other awards will be presented, such as the best goalkeeper, the best coach, the best emerging player and the best goal, in addition to other honors.
