Moncef Bouga gives Morocco its first gold medal at the Paralympic Games

On Thursday, September 5, 2024, Moroccan Moncef Bouga won the gold medal in the 400m (T12) during the athletics competitions of the Paralympic Games currently taking place in Paris.

Pooja took first place with a time of 48.62 seconds, ahead of American Noah Maloun, who won silver with a time of 49.35 seconds, while Tunisian Roua Jababli came in third place and won bronze with a time of 49.56 seconds.

This gold medal is considered the eighth for Morocco at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, and the first of its kind after several bronze and silver medals won by Moroccan athletes, such as runners Ayman El Haddaoui, Ayoub Adwish, Raja Akramash and Saida Amoudi, in addition to the silver medals of Fatima Zahraa Al Idrissi and Abdel Ilah Kani.
