“Strike” postpones trial of child trafficking network before Fez Court of Appeal

The paralysis of the strike yesterday, Wednesday, September 4, demanded by the unions of employees of the justice sector in Fez, caused the postponement of the first session of the case of the child trafficking network in the hospitals of Fez, within the framework of the Appeals for financial crimes. Chamber of the Court of Appeal of the city of Fez, until September 25 of this month, in which 34 cases are being prosecuted, including employees of the health sector and private security agents.

Last June, the Trial Chamber for Financial Crimes in Broadcasting, headed by Counselor Mohamed Lahia, handed down sentences ranging from 3 years in prison to acquittal against members of the network, which was dismantled by members of the Regional Police Division based on information provided by the National Directorate of Territorial Surveillance “Al-Desti”.

In the details of the judgments, the court sentenced the main accused in the case (F_F) to 3 years in prison, while it sentenced her two daughters to one year in prison for each of them, and pronounced 4 months in prison for her daughter. -in law.

The court sentenced the doctor (A_M), who was detained in Borkaiz Prison, to 4 months in prison, while it sentenced a doctor on probation to 2 months in prison, while it sentenced most of the private security guards to 4 months in prison.
The authority decided that a nurse from Al-Ghassani Hospital be sentenced to 3 years in prison and an ambulance driver to one year in prison, while the private security guard (M_Z) was sentenced to two years in prison.

The court acquitted four defendants of the charges against them, and they are expected to leave Borkaiz prison today after being remanded in custody.
It should be noted that the public prosecutor prosecuted the defendants, each according to the charges brought against him, for serious criminal charges related to: “human trafficking, exploitation of influence, impersonation of a function regulated by law, participation in the falsification of medical certificates, extortion”, participation in embezzlement and squandering of public funds, and participation in the falsification of medical certificates.
