Ugandan runner Rebecca Chepetegi (33) died following a tragic accident this week while returning from competing in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Chepetegui’s parents said their daughter had bought a plot of land in Trans Nzoia, close to several sports centres in the province, while local media reported that the runner and her boyfriend were heard arguing over the land on which the house had been built before the fire broke out.
