The Moroccan national team beat its Gabonese counterpart (4-1), during the match which brought them together on Friday, at the Grand Agadir Stadium, for the first round of the qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations “Morocco 2025”.

The first half of the match saw Ziyech score two goals from two penalty kicks, ending with a two-goal lead for the Atlas Lions. The cameras captured a special shot of Hakim Ziyech as he rejected a request from Real Madrid star Ibrahim Diaz.

Ziyech had scored the first penalty in the 10th minute, then Sofiane Rahimi was awarded a second penalty, carrying the ball and trying to take it, but Ziyech had other thoughts.

Ziyech rejected Sofiane Rahimi’s request, then Ibrahim Diaz asked him to give him the opportunity to score his first goal with the Moroccan national team, but the Turkish star of Galatasaray refused again, despite the intervention of Achraf Hakimi to accede to Diaz’s request.

Ziyech took the penalty, scoring his second personal goal of the match, the second for the Atlas Lions, and preventing Diaz from taking it, before the Real Madrid star was able to score his first goal with the Moroccan national team in the 59th minute, announcing the “Atlas Lions” 3-1 lead.

It is worth noting that the Moroccan national team occupies the first place in group 2 with 3 points, shared equally with Central Africa, while Gabon and Lesotho occupy the last place with 0 points.

Note that the Moroccan national team will face Lesotho in the second round of the qualifiers next Monday, at the Grand Stade d’Agadir, from eight o’clock in the evening.
