Al-Bayda Airport Security Arrests French National of Turkish Origin Wanted Internationally

Yesterday, Friday, September 6, State Security agents at Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport were able to arrest a 37-year-old French citizen of Turkish origin, who was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued against him by the judicial authorities of Casablanca. France.

The person concerned was arrested immediately after his arrival on a flight from Turkey, where his registration in the database of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) showed that he was wanted internationally at the request of the National Central Office in Paris, in order to execute a prison sentence imposed against him.

The arrested foreigner is suspected of being linked to a criminal network involved in drug trafficking and aggravated theft, as well as the promotion of objects resulting from thefts and detentions coupled with physical assaults and arson on French soil.

The suspect is also suspected of driving a car without a license and under the influence of drugs, of failing to obey the orders of French police officers and of deliberately hitting a police officer.

The suspect was placed in theoretical custody pending referral to the competent public prosecutor’s office, while the National Central Office “Interpol Rabat Office”, affiliated with the General Directorate of National Security, was tasked with notifying its counterpart in France of the arrest incident pending the extradition procedure.

The arrest of the suspect comes in the context of the commitment of the Moroccan security services to activate international security cooperation mechanisms, including the pursuit and arrest of persons wanted internationally in transnational crime cases.
