Arab Nations Beach Volleyball Championship: Moroccan women’s team wins title

The Moroccan women’s beach volleyball team (Iman Zeroual and Iman El Yaqi) won the title of the Arab Nations Beach Volleyball Championship on Monday evening in Hammamet, Tunisia, after winning the final match against the Lebanese national team by two rounds to zero (23-21, 21-14).
The Moroccan team qualified for the final after its victory this morning over the Jordanian team by two rounds to zero (21-14, 21-12).
Iman Zeroual and Iman Al-Yaqi won the title undefeated, having beaten host country teams Tunisia, Iraq and Bahrain in the previous rounds.
In a statement to the Arab Maghreb Press after the final match, the captain of the national team, Iman Zeroual, expressed her joy that the team won the Arab title, explaining that this title has a special significance for her because it comes after her return from injury.
Regarding the level of competition in the Arab Women’s Championship, Iman Zeroual said that this session of the tournament saw the participation of teams for the first time, and therefore the level of competition gradually increased over the successive rounds, reaching the end against the Lebanese team, which has great experience.
For his part, the coach of the Moroccan national team, Rachid Bouchadouk, expressed his joy at the Arab title, noting that one of the achievements of the new session of the Arab Championship is the entry of Arab teams for the first time in competition in this type of sport.
He added that the teams from Jordan, Tunisia and Lebanon were the most prominent in the women’s competition, alongside the Moroccan team which won the title.
Regarding the upcoming challenges facing the national women’s beach soccer team, Rachid Bouchadouk explained that the team is about to participate in an international tournament in Angola.
It is noteworthy that the Moroccan men’s national team left the competition for the Arab title in the quarter-finals after being defeated by the Saudi national team in two rounds of one.
