The services intended for the socio-educational integration and health of children with disabilities will be strengthened, within the framework of the Royal project for the generalization of social protection, affirmed, Thursday in Rabat, the Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family, Aouatif Hayar.
In a press statement following her visit to Al Manar Association, Ms. Hayar clarified that services under the education programs for children with disabilities will continue to be provided during the 2024-2025 school year.
These programs will benefit a large number of children with disabilities, she noted, recalling that, since September 6, associations have been able to launch schooling programs, while 26,000 children with disabilities are in school.
The Al Manar association aims to guarantee specialized care for children with mental disabilities, by responding to their specific needs and promoting their future professional integration, indicated, for her part, the president of the association, Annie Lazrek, noting that the start of the school year is a key moment for these children marking the beginning of a new year in an environment adapted to their needs.
“Today, thanks to a chain of solidarity including families, educators and volunteers, many children with disabilities lead fulfilled and happy lives,” she assured.
The Al Manar Association aims to provide, in addition to medical monitoring, education, rehabilitation, instruction and possible employment for mentally handicapped children and adolescents in order to enable them to lead a normal life.
The care is the result of close collaboration between a team made up of doctors, psychologists, specialist educators, psychomotor therapists, speech therapists, physical education teachers, specialist teachers, trainees and parents.
