A man in his fifties was killed on Saturday morning after falling into a well that he was preparing to dig in the traditional way at the Ouled Moumen roundabout in the Ouled Hasoun community in Marrakech.
According to available data, the victim was trying to climb from the bottom of the well, but the rope she was using during the ascent broke, causing her to fall forcefully to the bottom of the well, leading to her immediate death.
As a result, local authorities and the Royal Gendarmerie mobilized their members on site and rushed to the scene.
The victim’s body was transferred to the morgue and an investigation was opened into the circumstances of the accident on the orders of the competent public prosecutor’s office.
