Anas Zniti, Raja Athletic goalkeeper, is set to return to the ranks of the Moroccan first national team, after the recent period was marked by changes that could affect the choices of the national team coach.
Despite his long absence from the squad of the “Atlas Lions”, remaining out of the calculations as third goalkeeper after Yassine Bounou and Mounir El Mohamady, Zaniti has maintained his level and his brilliance with Raja, which still places him among the best goalkeepers in the championship. professional tournament.
In recent matches, Walid Regragui, the coach of the Moroccan national team, has relied on Mehdi Benabid, the goalkeeper of the Royal Army, alongside Bono and Mohammadi.
However, disciplinary issues within the Royal Army Club could open the door to Zeniti’s return, especially in light of Benabid’s absence from upcoming matches after he was fined and assigned to train with Al Amal.
Zeniti will have a valuable opportunity to return to the “Atlas Lions” team in the next two matches against the Central African Republic, in the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, as the data indicates that he is the first candidate to replace Benabid in the next preparatory camp.
According to a well-informed source, the administration of the Royal Army has sent a disciplinary report to the technical staff of the Moroccan national team concerning its goalkeeper Mehdi Benabid, which threatens his position within the “Atlas Lions”.
In this context, Anas Zniti, the Raja Athletic goalkeeper, has become the most prominent candidate to replace Benabid during the next preparatory camp.
