Today, Friday, September 20, the southeastern regions experienced torrential floods that caused significant material losses, a climatic phenomenon that the region has not experienced for many years.
Official sources confirmed the rescue of a number of people trapped by torrential waters, especially at the national road No. 9, connecting the regions of Agdz and Tznakht. Sources also indicated that the torrents surrounded a number of trucks carrying goods. The drivers were rescued, while the goods were lost.
The floods have also caused damage to roads and farmland, leading to the isolation of several roundabouts, and there are reports of livestock deaths.
Faced with these unstable weather conditions, the General Directorate of Meteorology has issued an orange alert level warning, anticipating the continuation of thunderstorms accompanied by hail and gusts of wind in several regions of the Kingdom, including the southeastern regions.
