As part of the ongoing mobilization in the Beni Mellal region to address water stress and ensure the supply of drinking water, particularly to residents of mountainous and rural areas, the governor of the Beni Mellal-Khénifra region, Khatib El-Habil, accompanied by the president of the regional council and several elected officials and heads of security and foreign affairs services, carried out, this Saturday morning, an inspection visit of a set of projects aimed at strengthening the supply of drinking water to several neighborhoods of Foum el-. Ener territorial community.
The governor of the region and the accompanying delegation inspected the projects of completing and equipping with pumps and solar energy three water wells in the districts of Tisouit, Al-Barakik and Ighargar in the community of Fam Al-Ansar, at a cost of about 2.1 million dirhams. to be completed and equipped. More than 320 families in these steep mountainous areas will benefit from it.
During this visit, these projects, which are financed from the budget of the Regional Council of Beni Mellal, were closely examined, the governor of the region having given his instructions to accelerate the completion of other works represented by the connection of these water points to the distribution network, reservoirs and irrigation systems. He also gave instructions to provide additional water reservoirs to enable the inhabitants of these villages to be supplied with drinking water and to supply their livestock, pending the completion of the water supply system for these projects.
This visit is part of the continuity of the inspection visits carried out by the governor of the region for a set of projects aimed at supplying drinking water to rural and mountainous areas of the Beni Mellal region, where, at the end of last August, he inspected the projects for the construction and equipment of 13 water points in the local authorities of Ouled Yaich and Ouled Mbarak as well as the mouth of the Odi, Kattaya and Samakt.
The implementation of these projects is part of a set of projects that aim to strengthen the supply of drinking water in rural areas in the Beni Mellal region, by generalizing individual connections to rural centers and by generalizing the benefit of water by connecting all areas of the rural area to the drinking water network, in addition to the urgent program represented by the supply of drinking water by tanker trucks for the benefit of residents affected by the effects of the drought.
