US Vice President Kamala Harris said Saturday that she has accepted an offer from CNN for a second presidential debate with former President and Republican nominee Donald Trump.
The Democratic presidential candidate said in a post on X that she had agreed to a second debate and called on Trump to take part.
“I hope @realDonaldTrump joins me,” she wrote.
At a rally in North Carolina on Saturday, Trump stressed that he was not willing to take part in another debate.
“It’s too late to have another one. I would like to, in many ways, but it’s too late. The voting has already started,” he said, referring to early voting that has begun in several states.
American channel CNN has proposed a televised debate between Harris and Trump on October 23.
A debate between vice presidential candidates Gov. Tim Walz and Sen. J.D. Vance is scheduled for Oct. 1 on CBS.
