Car sales fell 3.09% last March

The Association of Car Importers in Morocco reported that total new car sales in the kingdom stood at 35,680 units in March 2024, down 3.09% compared to the same period in 2023.
According to the source, by category, the number of new passenger car registrations decreased by 5.97%, totaling 31,741 units, while the number of light commercial vehicles increased to 3,939 units (an increase of 28.77 %).
The Dacia brand dominated the passenger car segment, with a market share of 28.43%, or 9,024 units sold in March 2024, followed by Renault (4,756 units, or 14.98% market share), then Hyundai, which sold 2,658 units, representing 8.37% market share, and Opel, which sold 1,788 units, representing 5.63% market share.
Regarding the light utility vehicle category, Renault increased its sales by 84.62%, totaling 1,104 units (or 28.03% market share), ahead of Ford, whose sales increased by 211.9% to reach 524 units (13.3% market share).
As for luxury car sales, Audi sold 1,120 units last March, representing a market share of 3.53%, ahead of BMW (854 cars, or 2.69% market share) and Mercedes (762 units, representing 2.4% market share).
