Tourist overnight stays are on the rise in Marrakech

The number of nights in the various tourist accommodation establishments classified in Marrakech during the first seven months of the current year increased by 8%, according to data from the Tourism Observatory.

The Observatory specifies in its statistics from last July that the number of nights in classified tourist accommodation establishments reached 5.5 million nights at the end of last July, compared to 5.1 million nights during the same period in 2023 .

The occupancy rate of these institutions during the first seven months of this year reached 69 percent, compared to 66 percent during the same period in 2023.

In the month of July alone, the number of nights in classified tourist accommodation establishments in the Red City recorded an increase of 7 percent.

The same source indicated that the number of nights spent in these establishments amounted to 791,477 nights during the month of July, compared to 736,306 nights during the same period in 2023.

The occupancy rate last July reached 64 percent, compared to 62 percent during the same period in 2023.

At the national level, the number of nights recorded in classified tourist accommodation establishments reached 15.35 million nights during the first seven months of 2024, an increase of 8% compared to the same period of the year last.

For the month of July alone, the volume of nights in these establishments recorded an increase of 6% compared to July 2023, i.e. plus 17% for non-resident tourists and minus 9% for residents.
