National voter Walid Regragui revealed the identity of the new leader of the Moroccan national team in the absence of the duo, Hakim Ziyech, the Turkish player from Galatasaray, and Romain Saiss, the Qatari player from Al-Sadd.
Regragui said during his speech at the press conference held this Thursday morning to announce the composition of the Moroccan national team: “Hakimi will be the captain of the national team against the two Central African teams, and I have a lot of confidence in him, because he gives a lot to Morocco even if he is injured, and he is a model for young players.
And added: “We have other players who deserve to wear the leadership armband but who do not need it, like Yassine Bounou, Mounir El Mohamady and Sofiane Amrabat.”
Note that Hakim Ziyech will miss the Moroccan national team during the two matches against the Central African Republic due to an injury, while Romain Saiss will be absent due to the coach’s choices.
