Authorities in Ourika region ban same-sex marriages abroad

Immediately after learning of the intention of two foreigners to prepare a same-sex wedding after booking themselves and their guests in one of the listed hotels in the Ourika region, the authorities of the Al Haouz province intervened, preventing the ceremony last weekend.

Local sources reported that the two gay men, one French and the other New Zealand, had booked a number of rooms for around 50 foreign guests invited to attend the wedding.

The same sources add that the authorities listened to the hotel owner and a number of users, after they claimed that the party was linked to a birthday party, in order to cover up the truth about the party, from which the local authorities were able to gather information and it was confirmed to them that the party was a gay wedding.
