The National Committee of Students in Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy responded to the statements of the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, Abdellatif Mirawi, yesterday Monday, in the House of Representatives.
In this regard, the committee highlighted its continued boycott of academic courses and hospital training until the demands are met and result in a signed report binding all parties.
The committee expressed its rejection of the scheduling of exams by the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation without examining the problem, resolving it and without involving the National Committee, considering this scheduling as a failed attempt to destabilize student unity, considering that each intervention aims to undermine joint efforts and bring the file back to zero by any party, and demand the unconditional lifting of the decision to dissolve the councils and offices and the sanctions imposed against student representatives.
In a related context, the commission called on the Kingdom Mediator Foundation to assume its responsibilities and clarify its position to national public opinion regarding the absurdity of the government and the management of this file by the ministry, noting that the ministry rejected the students’ request to guarantee two sessions every six.
The committee called on the Al-Waseet Foundation to ensure compliance with what was stated in the settlement report of the Pharmacy Division, including the lifting of disciplinary sanctions, stressing that the unjustly suspended pharmacy representative still suffers with the dean of the college and the president of the university because his academic account on the university website is still deleted.
Italia stressed that their series of struggles exceeded all expectations by reaching the tenth consecutive month of open boycott of all educational activities, including theoretical courses, exams and hospital training, thus resisting all attempts to divide the ranks of students and undermine the unity of their decision and their destiny, even if points of view and visions diverge, emphasizing that betting on the weakening of student ranks is a bet that has proven to fail on each occasion.
