Nearly 2,000 people had access to care and consultations during the “Mouda” multidisciplinary medical caravan, organized from October 18 to 20 at the Benslimane provincial hospital center. This humanitarian initiative was set up by the Bouhaira Slimania Association of Social Works (ABSOS), in partnership with the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity and the Moroccan Association for Assistance and Psychological Support, under the aegis of the provincial delegation of health and social protection.
A team of 43 doctors, accompanied by approximately 30 nurses, technicians and administrators, offered medical services in various specialties, such as general medicine, ophthalmology, dentistry, pediatrics, cardiovascular diseases, endocrinology, internal medicine, digestive diseases, kidney diseases, gynecology-obstetrics, otolaryngology (ENT) and dermatology. Psychological support, sophrology and treatment of speech disorders and learning difficulties, as well as optical services and free distribution of glasses were also included.
Participants benefited from consultations, medical examinations, as well as early screening for breast and cervical cancer. Blood pressure and blood sugar examinations were carried out using mobile medical units, equipped for ultrasound and biological analyses.
Jilali Chafik, president of ABSOS, stressed that this caravan aims to bring health services closer to citizens while reducing medical and surgical costs. Karima Salhi, president of the Moroccan Association for Psychological Assistance and Support, specified that the initiative includes mental health care, aimed at relieving the suffering of patients and reducing waiting times. Additionally, the program included awareness sessions on oral hygiene, healthy eating and chronic disease management.
