The works manager added, in a statement to the “Alma Dialna” platform, that the construction period of the dam has been reduced by more than 11 months, which will allow its completion by 2025, which will help provide additional important. water resources towards the Moulouya basin.
The same official confirmed that the work continues 24 hours a day and includes the laying of compacted concrete in the main dam, the burying of the right and left banks of the dam, as well as the installation of metal channels for the water intakes. drinking and irrigation water.
The works also include the placement of plain concrete in the discharger and preparations for the placement of reinforced concrete in the lower basin of the dam. Drainage channels are also installed on both banks, in addition to excavation and injection work in the foundations of the dam to ensure its stability.
This large dam will store up to 44 million cubic meters of water, which will secure the supply of drinking water to residents of areas located at the foot of the dam, in addition to irrigating agricultural land. It will also help protect the residents of Driush and Midar from flooding and promote the socio-economic development of the region.
The Beni Aziman dam, in the province of Driouch, is distinguished by a design combining the use of concrete and compacted soils. Technically, the dam is 69.5 meters high, 683.5 meters long at the top and 7 meters wide.
