Ahmed Bouari was appointed Wednesday by King Mohammed VI as Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, replacing Mohamed Sadiki.
Born in 1964 in Ouezzane, Ahmed Bouari began his career as a rural engineering engineer. Recognized for his expertise in the agricultural and environmental fields, he has distinguished himself by a pragmatic approach to the challenges linked to rural development.
Since 2018, he held the position of Director of Irrigation within the ministry, where he focused on the management of water resources, an increasingly important issue for Morocco in the face of the effects of climate change.
His appointment comes as Morocco faces increasing challenges linked to drought and the impact of these changes on the country’s agriculture and natural resources.
