The Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed its knowledge of the “violent death” of his compatriot on October 11 in Algeria.
According to Agence France-Presse, the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that the victim was a Swiss tourist who was part of a group of five Swiss tourists.
Swiss broadcasting company RTS reported that local Algerian authorities asked residents in the region not to provide any information relating to the incident on social media.
French media reported that a man attacked a Swiss tourist with a knife while she was at a cafe in the southeastern Algerian town of Djanet and massacred her in front of her children .
