In an interesting incident, Akram Afif, the Qatari star of Al-Sadd, mocked the performance of Kylian Mbappe, the Real Madrid striker, after the latter’s disappointing match in the Spanish Clasico against Barcelona.
During the match, Mbappe scored a goal which was disallowed, while the match ended in a crushing 4–0 victory for Barcelona. Mbappe had celebrated with Real fans at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium by highlighting the ‘lob’ method with which he wanted to score his goal against Barcelona, before discovering it was offside.
Less than 24 hours later, Afif led his Al-Sadd team to a huge victory over Al-Wakrah by 3-0 in the Qatari league. Afif also scored his second goal using the ‘lob’ method, then celebrated in a similar fashion to Mbappe, jumping before standing up with his arms crossed.
But the surprise was when Afif made fun of Mbappe, pointing with his hand at the ‘lob’ method in a sarcastic manner and appearing to express his displeasure with a few words.
