Despite being on the bench throughout the match, Szczesny celebrated with his teammates in the locker room, when Spanish goalkeeper Iñaki Peña started the match and put in a remarkable performance, keeping a clean sheet.

Szczesny recently joined Barcelona on a free transfer to compensate for the absence of goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, after the latter decided to come out of international retirement. Chesney is known for his tendency to smoke, despite his attempts to avoid it publicly, emphasizing that it is a matter of his personal freedom.
