Morocco gave its vote during the race for the Ballon d’Or, organized by the newspaper “France Football”, to Brazilian star Vinicius Junior, Spanish player for Real Madrid.
Colleagues of the Al-Muntakhab newspaper elected Vinicius Junior as the best player of the year 2024, while the Spaniard Rodri, who won the Ballon d’Or at the ceremony, came in second place. Englishman Jude Bellingham and Spaniard Dani Carvajal came in third and fourth place, while Frenchman Kylian Mbappé came in fifth place.
In the Best Coach category, the Moroccan representatives chose the Italian Carlo Ancelotti, coach of Real Madrid, and the Royal Club was also chosen as the best team of the year.
As for the prize for the best goalkeeper, first place was awarded to Ukrainian Andriy Lunin, followed by Argentinian Emiliano Martinez in second place and Spaniard Unai Simon in third place.
It should be noted that Rodri received the award, even though Vinicius was considered the most high-profile candidate, in a ceremony that was marked by a total boycott by Real Madrid components.
