Henri Poupart-Lafarge: “Morocco is a strategic industrial platform for Alstom”

Morocco represents a strategic industrial platform for Alstom, underlined Tuesday in Rabat, the Group’s Managing Director.

Beyond the significant commercial prospects and the important markets it offers, Morocco is an extremely important country for Alstom as a real industrial platform, indicated Mr. Poupart-Lafarge during a press briefing at the end interviews with the Director General of the National Railway Office (ONCF), Mohamed Rabie Khlie.

In this sense, he welcomed the excellent relations, the fruitful partnerships with the ONCF, as well as the strong presence of the Group in Morocco, expressing his wish to continue this collaboration towards new horizons.

Regarding the Memorandum of Understanding relating to the supply of high-speed trainsets and their support elements, signed by both parties, Mr. Poupart-Lafarge noted that Alstom’s offer is the one which offers the best performance on the walk.

For his part, Mr. Khlie underlined that the national railway network has experienced, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, numerous structuring projects over the last two decades, in particular the emblematic project, the high-speed train “Al Boraq.”

Building on these achievements, Morocco intends to continue this momentum, he added, noting that in addition to the high-speed line, there is also the very structured upgrade of the rail networks, in addition to the acquisition of rails to renovate the current fleet.

Regarding the partnership with Alstom, Mr. Khlie indicated that the French Group’s offer was the most competitive, whether in terms of maintenance and logistical support, but also in terms of support.

The Memorandum of Understanding relating to the supply of high-speed trainsets and their support elements, which was signed Monday in Rabat, by Mr. Mohamed Rabie Khlie, and Mr. Henri Poupart-Lafarge, concerns a contract for the acquisition of trainsets for the High Speed ​​Train (12 firm and 6 optional).
