Data from the National Airports Office indicates that air traffic at Tetouan International Airport recorded strong growth between January and the end of September 2024, amounting to 31.09% compared to the same period of the last year, during which the airport welcomed 198,868 passengers.
In September alone, air traffic saw a sharp increase of 44.44 percent, with the number of passengers exceeding 36,400 people, while in September last year it recorded more than 25 200 passengers.
Concerning aircraft movements during the first nine months of this year, they in turn recorded a growth of 31.11%, reaching 2,183 movements, compared to 1,665 movements during the same period in 2023.
Last September alone, aircraft movements reached 308 movements, up from 203 movements, representing a growth of 51.72 percent on an annual basis.
Furthermore, the National Airports Office indicated that Moroccan airports set a new record, welcoming 24,274,324 passengers at the end of September 2024, an increase of 19.66% compared to the same period of the year. last.
This growth concerned most airports, notably Rabat-Salé (up 42.77 percent), Agadir (up 36.5 percent), Dakhla (up 35.94 percent), Marrakech (up 33.88 percent). ), Tetouan (plus 31.09 percent) and Tangier (plus 31.09 percent). plus 21.91 percent).
