Heba Press – Fez
The Union of Small Taxi Drivers of Fez called on the security authorities to intervene immediately to put an end to the attacks against drivers, and to work to arrest the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
According to a report from the aforementioned union, several drivers were recently robbed and stabbed.
The union also called on relevant authorities to step up safety patrols in areas with high crime rates and provide the necessary protection to drivers while carrying out their work.
The union explained that the repeated attacks caused serious injuries to some drivers, which caused them to become anxious and afraid.
She stressed that these criminal acts have contributed to increasing tensions within the sector and now pose a real threat to the safety of drivers and their families.
The union warned that continuing this situation without strict measures could prompt drivers to refrain from working during nighttime hours as a protest measure to protect themselves.
She also called on drivers to defend their legitimate demands, stressing that protecting the safety of workers in the sector is a non-negotiable priority.
