Tarfaya: The Royal Navy provides assistance to 118 candidates for irregular migration

A combat unit of the Royal Navy intercepted, on Sunday, two boats respectively 22 km and 19 km southwest of Tarfaya, with on board 118 candidates for irregular migration including 9 women and 3 minors.

These candidates, of sub-Saharan and Asian origin, intended to join the Canary Islands, indicates the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces in a press release.

The rescued people received the necessary care on board, before being entrusted to the Royal Gendarmerie for the usual administrative procedures, specifies the same source.
