The Bank of Morocco indicated that industrial activity in Morocco may have recorded an improvement during the month of September 2024 compared to the previous month.
The Bank of Morocco indicated, in a note relating to its monthly survey on the situation of the industrial sector, between October 1 and 30, 2024, that production could have recorded an increase in all branches with the exception of “industries food” and “textiles and leather”. , where production may have stagnated.
The same source pointed out that in these circumstances, the capacity utilization rate, for its part, could have increased by two points to reach 79 percent.
In terms of sales, they would have increased in all branches except “Textiles and Leather” which would have stagnated. Depending on the destination, industrial clients indicated that their sales were increasing, whether on the local or foreign market.
Furthermore, applications could have increased in all branches except “Chemistry and Semichemistry” which could have experienced stagnation.
As for order books, they could stabilize at a normal level, covering levels higher than normal in the “Chemical and Semi-Chemical” and “Electricity and Electronics” branches, and lower than normal in the “Agri-Food Industries” , “Textiles and Leather”. » and “Mechanics and metals”.
Over the next three months, industrial customers expect an increase in production and sales in all branches of activity, with the exception of the “food industries” which are expected to stagnate.
