Poet and journalist Maryam Kroudi has released a new book titled: “Children and Poetry Writing… An Experience,” published by Bab Al-Hikma Publications.
Krodi said the work “brings together stories, laughter and moments of children who discovered the aesthetic of craftsmanship; It includes their poems, their dreams, their ideas and their first steps on the path of creativity, and carries within itself the innocence of childhood and the poetic spirit.
The poet explained that this publication comes after years of experience in organizing poetry writing workshops for the benefit of children and adolescents, hoping that readers will find in it a guide and a source of inspiration, d ‘especially since it presents through it a certain number of mechanisms and means, as well as exercises which will stimulate the child’s imagination and increase their abilities and skills in written expression.
Regarding the idea of the workshop, the writer pointed out that it started as a small paragraph in a broad cultural program, before turning into a regular weekly meeting in which Krodi met with the children about poetry and its aesthetic, for many years. .
She added that she had long dreamed of crowning this exceptional bond between her and the children, by documenting and commemorating it, celebrating it and her intimacy, and the results that resulted from it.
It is worth noting that “Children and Poetry Writing… Are the Pangs of an Experience” comes after the short story collection “Lipstick” and the poetry collection “T’ Hymns”, as well as others collective publications and anthologies.
