Last Tuesday, local authorities in the city of Qasr al-Kabir launched an inspection and surveillance campaign targeting shops in the “henna market”, one of the most important markets in the city.
This campaign, supervised by a local joint committee, led to the destruction of large quantities of expired products, as well as oils and honey unfit for consumption. An official report was also produced to document the incident.
The authorities concerned stressed the need for traders to comply with approved health measures to maintain safety and prevention, while ensuring the cleanliness of their stores and providing their services in a healthy environment, and respecting the controls related to their commercial activity.
