Members of the Royal Gendarmerie of the Tiznit Brigade, under the supervision of the center commander, carried out a qualitative operation aimed at putting an end to the “Al-Mahia” promotion networks.
In this regard, members of the Royal Gendarmerie were able to arrest a person suspected of being involved in the promotion of “Al-Mahaya” alcohol, after setting up an elaborate ambush which resulted in his arrest at the Bounaman community center .
After searching the place of his arrest, the suspect led investigators to his home at the “Adhamo Ntaleb” roundabout in the same community, where approximately 700 liters of “Al-Mahia” were found ready for distribution, in more than 200 liters of fermented substance, as well as distillation equipment including more than 10 gas bottles and pressure cookers, which are used to make traditional liqueur.
The suspect was arrested and brought to justice, while the Royal Gendarmerie continues its investigation to discover the rest of the members of this criminal network.
